- The medieval village of Montpeyroux has been built around its castle since 1070. Located on the southernmost route to Santiago de Compostela, it has always been a crossroads on the routes travelled by pilgrims.
- Its limestone terroir, renowned for its wild landscapes, earned it the name Mont Pierreux.

Vinification et élevage
The work begins in the vineyard with a selection of the plots more capable of producing this type of wine. The grapes are harvested largely by hand. A double sorting system is carried out in the vineyard and in the cellar. The winemaking is traditional and the grapes are destemmed before begins the maceration phase which lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. Pressing is carried out, then leaving room for fermentation. malolactic. A third of the wine is aged for 9 months in barrels, the rest being kept in a tank.

The dress is intense. The nose reveals a complex bouquet of olive black, grilled, truffle and black fruits overripe. The mouth is powerful, dense, concentrated, rich and very aromatic on licorice, violet, spices and roasted coffee; it is develops into a long, velvety finish.
